MESSAGE FROM DEAN FACULTY OF MEDICINE
MESSAGE TO THE WORLD CONGRESS FOR THE NEW AGE OF INTEGRATED MEDICINES
It is of great pleasure in sending a message to the souvenir to be published on the opening ceremony of the World Congress for the New Age of Integrated Medicines.
The progressive advancement of the Integrated Medicine in the treatment of diseases either single handedly or collectively has to he highly appreciated. This would definitely require the integration of all forms of therapy. An integrated therapy with maximum effectiveness, minimum side effects and low cost forms an ideals one and I have the strong hope that the objective of this congress could become a true affair very soon.
In Sri Lanka probably after experiencing different modalities of treatment for many years people have been selective regarding therapy. The elderly or experienced members in a community still play an active role in tills important affair. This concept has been consolidated by the ever-advancing information technology. As a result the information regarding diseases and treatment are easily available for constructive criticisms. The time is now ripe to bridge and modulate the different types of therapy for the benefit of all patients. Hence I have the strong hope that this congress would create awareness among people to implement its objective that undivided medicine benefits all .mankind. I would also like to insist on the Sinhalese proverb If you cannot be a king, then be a healer?
Yours Sincerely,
Dr. R. Rajendraprasad
